Our primary functions are centered around supporting each other, our families, and the people of Kalamazoo County.

Education

KAMA educates its members through legislation initiatives, attendance at workshops sponsored by the state and participation in national leadership training conferences for elected leaders.

KAMA educates the community by distributing the “I Can Handle Bullies” program to area schools and through the distribution of Domestic Assault Information cards throughout the community.

Service

KAMA provides continuing support to the community through its fundraising events. Monies raised at these events support:

  • Hospital Hospitality House

  • YMCA Domestic Assault program

  • Health Promotions Projects

The Caroline Bartlett Crane Award is given biennially to honor a KAMA member for volunteer service to the Kalamazoo County community.

Legislation

KAMA keeps members apprised of pending legislation that will impact the provision of health care and the quality of medicine through distribution of legislative information as provided by MSMSA. It is a vehicle for a unified voice in health and medical legislation.

Doing Life Together

KAMA is a community of people who share their lives with physicians. And since that often means going it alone, we foster a community that understands the need to do life together when we can!

Working Together for our Community

Perhaps no one has their finger on the pulse of a community’s needs quite like someone partnered with a physician. We are working together to make Kalamazoo a better place for all who live here.
